The Durham Miners' Association fully supports Jeremy Corbyn in his bid to become the next leader of the Labour Party.
DMA General Secretary Dave Hopper said: ''The Durham miners are backing Jeremy because he has a long track record of standing up for our values of socialism and peace. He is the only candidate offering a real alternative to the Tory government's austerity agenda.
Jeremy supported the mining communities 30 years ago in our struggle to defend our jobs and our communities. He has attended and spoken at the Gala a number of times over the years and we were delighted to invite Jeremy to address this year's Gala.''
